The 48th Annual IES Illumination Awards

IES Illumination Awards 2021 were presented on August 9, during the kick-off of the 2021 Virtual Annual Conference.

BASELINE RECEIVED THE MERIT AWARD

CÉ LA VI China, located in Shanghai on The Bund, overlooks the Hangpu River & offers a majestic view of Shanghai’s distinct skyline. CÉ LA VI is an artistic interpretation of “This is Life” in the form of luxury restaurants and club lounges that offer guests unique & vibrant lifestyle experiences.

The Lighting Design of the ceiling was completed by Baseline Lighting Design Studio, working hand in hand with the Australian contemporary architect, Michell Eades (previously Samantha Eades).

CE LA VI project started in Octobre 2018 and was opened on Decembre 2019 (read more about the opening). Spread across 1000sqm, the venue hosts a wide open terrace bar that directly views the Pudong skyline, a modern Asian fusion restaurant helmed by chef Oscar Toro, and lounge all three lighted by red light spotlights immersing the customers in a classy world.

The concept of a modern Chinese restaurant with neo-classical shapes combined with soft velvets and silk-screen artwork lined makes CE LA VI an unique signature giving a sense of comfort and style. Dining extends out onto the spectacular open terrace, where the views speak for themselves.

You enter the club via a wall of artistic paintings that changes in sequence four times in seconds thanks to the lights. From DJ booth, red lips artwork to the redneon cursive lighting in the club ceiling that reads “cool vibes and city skies », the colour immediately impresses, keeping the customers in a sophisticated permanent flow.
